Ben tries to be a good guy, but has trouble censoring himself and focusing. He was always seen as a trouble-maker; the bad kid. Everyone has those bad ideas slide through their mind - skip class, break something, curse out a teacher - however, most people have that ability to not act on those thoughts. Ben just doesn't.
He eventually learned to accept Bs and Cs in school and does the smallest amount of work that he can to keep those grades. He's loyal with friends, but usually has trouble keeping them; most people can't deal with him in large doses. It's fine with him, because it gives him more time to devote to music. Music is the only thing that can control his mind.
It only took Ben till his second year in college to just begin to understand himself, and he's ready for a change. The only thing is, he's gonna need friends.. patient ones.. ones that realize he is trying.
