Not but two generations have passed since The humans landed on the eastern side of the Continent called Lanelton. They found an easily protected spot of land, surrounded by mountains on one side, and an ocean coast on the other, an easily traversable mountain path leading to open plains, and a very large forest in the back drop.
At first they where small in numbers, a search party of sorts. For a week or so they checked the surrounding lands, until stumbling on the large beasts of the forest. Barely able to fend them off, at the last minute they where saved by oddly clothed men...Well, people with wings. They used powers that where unusual, one of them actually shot fire from his hand. It was amazing.
After that the people where not seen for many months, after the first town was established they where visited by what seemed to be important people among them. They explained who they where, and the dangers to expect, they where nice, but something about them made the humans nervous.
They started to co-exist for a while, Strife's as they called themselves helped build the houses and buildings, and they even shared their runes to help the humans hunt.
Soon enough a bustling civilization was formed. Yet things where not so peaceful, finally coming to realize the Strife's they had encountered looked the same as when they first showed up, and the children where growing as well, they discovered the life span of the Strife people. Jealousy slowly brewed.
Then came the request to visit them at their mountain home, the Strife's denied the request out right. Saying it was not time, that the humans had not grown as a people enough. Did they think they where more important? Some would say, and anger grew.
The Strife did not mean it as an insult, they where thinking logically, their land was built and reshaped for flight access humans could not fly, and when they did it was with their vehicles and Strife magic. And it was widely suspected among the Strife people that curiosity would drive them further and the door would be put in danger.
In the possession of the Strife is a solid gold door, with unimaginable jewelry and gems embedded in it. It leads into a building but is constantly guarded by the most loyal Strife warriors and its contents are so secret only the council know whats inside.
Humans are unaware of the door entirely.
The possibility of death isn't just possible, but its the only way to move forward at a certain point. Like Demons? Well meetGuardians, not only is this a war covered through a mortal realm, but there is an immortal clash that follows.
