Walking around the mall wasn't something a 23 year-old like Faye Hollyhock normally did. She much preferred to sit in the park and read a book, or draw. However, today she actually had a reason to wander into the large, shopping center. Her mother's 50th birthday was coming up, and the blue-haired girl was in search of the perfect gift. Ever since her father left, Faye had been very close to her mother. She was one of her best friends, and though she was irritated by her, like any daughter is by her mother on the occasion, Faye couldn't ask for a better parent.
Faye kept her eyes peeled, looking in the windows of stores, in search of an idea of what she could get her mother for her birthday. Anita wasn't big on fancy jewelry, or expensive clothes, or anything like that. Something sentimental and thoughtful would probably be better. Faye made a face passing by the craft store. Something like a scrapbook or photo album would be too cheesy. With her head tilted, Faye wandered into a little hippie-ish looking store, with a lot of room decorations, candles, some clothes, and other random junk. Faye's mom loved that kind of home-made looking crap. Blinking, Faye, picked up a small ceramic box, that looked like it had been hand-painted, and flipped it over to look at the price, setting it back down almost immediately.
